Q1: Is multi-clienting allowed?

Multi-clienting on a single machine is not allowed. This stance is non-negotiable. Sorry.

Q2: I submitted a ticket but haven't been contacted by Perfect World's Customer Service Department. What gives?

Please be aware that Perfect World's Customer Service Department receives numerous tickets on daily basis. Rest assured knowing that your ticket will be responded to in the order in which it was received. Remember to check your spam/junk mail just in case our reply happens to get routed there. We strive for a one day turn-around time, but sometimes it's just not within our powers. And yes, we have powers...

Q3: How come I'm not getting any email from you guys?

The most common reason for this is because we were accidentally identified by your email client as spam. And while kudos to your junk filter, we are definitely not spam. If you do, however, happen to find one of our emails in your bulk/spam folder, please take the time to move us to your inbox in addition to adding us to your "safe sender list" (sometimes referred to as the "whitelist"). Doing so will prevent future mishaps from occurring. 

Q4: Since the game has an obscenities filter, is it ok to swear or use profanity in chat?

No, it is never permissible to use any type of swearing, profanity, or offensive language in your conversations. Nor is it permissible to use any form of "leet speak" or otherwise to get around the filter. The filters are there for a reason. Let's keep the language clean, safe, and fun for everyone.

Q5: My friend happened to break one of the game rules while using my account. Will I be the one that's liable?

First, sharing and letting someone else use your account is a direct violation of the Terms of Use. Second, within the Terms of Use it is explicitly stated that you (the registered user of the account) are directly responsible for actions that are conducted with your account.

In a real world scenario, blame would be placed on the person that was behind the wheel at the time. But if it was against the law for you to drive a car (e.g. say you were underage) and your parents still gave you the keys and their consent, wouldn't it be reasonable to hold them partially liable?

So in the end, fair is fair. Just play by the rules.

Q6: Why did I get a penalty for inappropriate language use when the other guy started the argument?

Well, it takes two to tango. You could have easily acted as the better man/woman by walking away from the argument rather than take part in the dispute. So at the end of the day, you and any else breaking the rules broke the rules.

Q7: What's your stance on the reselling of digital items?

As iterated in the Terms of Service, all digital items and intellectual property pertaining to any games and/or service provided by Perfect World Entertainment is owned solely by Perfect World Entertainment. You have no specific rights to any of these items or characters except to use them in accordance with the rules set forth by the company. This is different than reselling the items you purchased in the boutique for in-game currency.

1. Item Selling
The selling of virtual/digital goods owned by Perfect World Entertainment for real monies is strictly forbidden except in any instance backed by the company.

2. Character Selling
Character selling is strictly forbidden. No ifs, ands, or buts about it.

3. Account Transfer
Account selling, trading, or transferring is not allowed. Basically, once you register an account, it should only be accessed by you.

Q8: How do I purchase things in the boutique (item mall)?

To purchase anything in the boutique you're going to need ZEN. What's ZEN you ask? ZEN is the virtual currency that can be used in-game goods in the games published by Perfect World. Purchase ZEN through a variety of means such as Google Checkout, PayPal, or PayByCash.

You can also purchase ZEN while in-game in Perfect World.

1. Locate the "pile of gold" icon displayed on the southern circumference of your mini map.
2. Click the icon and the "Boutique" should appear.
3. Click "Charge" at the bottom of the screen and it will take you to the Billing Login Page.
4. Follow the easy fill-up instructions and you'll have ZEN to spend in no time.

Q9: Do I need a credit card to purchase ZEN?

Nope, payment for ZEN can be made in a variety of ways. Please check out the ZEN FAQ for more information on ZEN.

Q10: Why does Perfect World have an "item mall" that essentially takes cash payments when the game is supposed to be free to play?

Well, we do have to eat and pay rent, haha. But all jokes aside, we are a business right? We aim to provide you with excellent service and hope that you can support us in our cause. 

Have you ever seen websites asking for donations? We're kind of on the same boat. We hope that you appreciate the quality of service that we bring you and support us by purchasing ZEN.

Q11: How do I contact Perfect World Entertainment's Billing Department?

You can use the Ticketing System to contact Perfect World Entertainment's Billing Department. If it's a specific question about one of your payments, contact the phone number on your billing receipt and provide the representative with your transaction number.

Q12: My account got banned, what do I do?

Use the Ticketing System and provide us the details of your situation. Do not post on the forums about it!

Q13: Account Security/Compromised Accounts

Although it's been stated before we'll say it again, NEVER SHARE YOUR ACCOUNT INFORMATION WITH ANYONE. This includes your best friend Mark, Jon the ice-cream man, or even your pet sugar glider, Derick – the works. 

Q14: Ok, I got access to my hacked account again, but when do I get my stuff back?

Unfortunately, while we can help you recover your account, lost items and currency due to an account compromise cannot and will not be restored. The rules regarding item restoration are clearly stated in the Terms of Service. It is your responsibility to safeguard your account from being compromised. Never, ever, ever share your user ID and password with anyone. Never enter your user ID and password on any sites that are not listed in the "Safe Site List".

Q15: What do I do when I think someone has hacked my account?

If you think your account has been hacked, please submit the issue through our Ticketing System. We'll do everything in our power to make sure you get access to your account again. Remember when submitting your ticket to provide all the necessary items in order for us to investigate the case. This includes your account name, first and last name, registered email address, and a brief description of the situation.

Q16: What do I need to provide in order regain control of my hacked account?

As hacked cases can be unique, an evaluation will be made before it is determine what information is required to restore access to an account. In most cases, an email with instructions on how to retrieve the account will be sent to your registered email. If you have not received such an email, please use the ticketing function to submit your issue.

Q17: What do you mean when you say "registered user" of an account?

The "registered users" is the individual that initially opened the account either for themselves or on behalf of someone under the age of 13.

Q18: How long does it usually take for Perfect World's Customer Service Department to respond to emails?

You should generally get a response back in 24 hours. But please be aware that Perfect World's Customer Service Department receives numerous tickets on daily basis.
